  • by

Several strategic accords were inked during the thirdGITEX Africa Morocco event, which took place in Marrakesh from April 14th through April 16th, 2025. These agreements involved collaborations between the Ministry of DigitalTransition and AdministrativeReform, state-owned entities, and domestic organizations.

One of the main accords was between the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Digital Transition, and Barid Al-Maghrib aimed at boosting the usage of the Amazigh language within postal services.

This encompasses Amazigh-speaking personnel, signage, and digital incorporation, all in compliance with Law 26-16 and Article 5 of the Constitution.

A significant achievement was reaching an accord to set up the JAZARI Institute in Guelmim-Oued Noun, which will function as a local center for innovation focused on practical research and digital advancement.

This hub aims to deploy artificial intelligence across key areas like agriculture, renewable energy, tourism, healthcare, and the blue economy. It seeks to strengthen the “Made in Morocco” brand in southern areas while aiding the digital integration of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Moreover, an alliance involving the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, and pertinent government departments plans to integrate 200,000 young soccer players into digital and artificial intelligence technologies designed for sports growth. This initiative will start as pilots at federal facilities prior to expanding across the country.

The event was also notable for launching a TravelTech initiative via a collaboration among the Ministry of Digital Transition, Royal Air Maroc, and the Digital Development Agency. This move positions Morocco as a major actor within Africa’s digital travel sector and reinforces RAM’s status as the Official Carrier of GITEX Africa.
