Meet China’s Luxurious Tank: The Denza N9 Black Warrior Boasts Supercar Performance

A substantial upscale premium SUV has joined the elite segment of vehicles. The luxury division of Chinese car manufacturer BYD, known as Denza, has launched their flagship model, the N9 Black Warrior Edition SUV.

The design boasts a sleek all-black glossy finish, offers an outstanding top driving distance of 1,300 kilometers, and incorporates a plug-in hybrid setup generating 925 horsepower.

To coincide with the brand’s launch into the European market, this model has been strategically introduced. It aims at the luxury SUV sector across all elements including its outward appearance as well as technical details and capabilities.

Luxurious Upgrade Featuring High-Gloss Black Accents

The Denza N9 Black Warrior Edition distinguishes itself with its eye-catching glossy black body and dark wheels, offering a strong and sophisticated appearance.

The car measures 5,258 mm in length, spans 2,030 mm in width, and boasts a wheelbase of 3,125 mm, classifying it as a full-sized SUV. Its interior accommodates six passengers comfortably with a two-plus-two-plus-two seating arrangement.

The second row comes with individual seating, whereas the front passenger area has a 13.2-inch display. Mounted on the ceiling is a 17.1-inch screen, and there’s also a sliding fridge for added comfort and luxury.

The first and second-row seating can be completely folded down to transform the area into a sleeping space.

925 HP Hybrid System

This model features a plug-in hybrid system that pairs a 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine with three electric motors.

It has an impressive combined output of 925 horsepower and can cover about 200 kilometers solely on electricity. When both gas and electric power are utilized, the overall driving distance reaches up to 1,302 kilometers.

The 46.9 kWh battery enables rapid charging, increasing charge levels from 30% to 80% within approximately 19 minutes—reducing anxiety related to refueling during extended journeys or travel adventures.

Self-Driving Cars and Competitive Pricing

The N9 Black Warrior Edition comes equipped with BYD’s advanced driver assistance system, God’s Eye B.

The system combines LiDAR, radar, and ultrasonic sensors to offer functionalities like remote parking, lane-keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Additionally, it enables automatic emergency braking at velocities of up to 110 km/h, including situations when driving after dark.

The initial cost stands at roughly 389,800 Yuan ($53,000), with top-of-the-line models going up to about $61,000. Given the advanced high-performance hybrid system and luxury amenities, the pricing is quite competitive.
