Bayer and Siemens Healthineers Unveil 3 Groundbreaking Diagnostic Imaging Technologies

At the “Expanding the Future of Care” event held in Vietnam, Bayer and Siemens Healthineers presented various innovative diagnostic imaging solutions. The gathering attracted around 120 prominent healthcare experts, featuring influential members from the Vietnam Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine as well as representatives from principal medical institutions nationwide.

Taking place concurrently with the Annual Congress of the Radiology Society of Ho Chi Minh City in 2025, the exhibition highlighted three key advancements: the Magnetom Flow Platform, Somatom Pro.Pulse, and Medrad Centargo.

These systems aim to enhance diagnostic precision, boost operational effectiveness, and facilitate sustainable healthcare provision. The Medrad Centargo from Bayer offers an automated contrast injection system that minimizes time intervals between scans and diminishes manual tasks for technicians, enabling medical personnel to concentrate more on patient care. Equipped with a versatile three-syringe configuration (one saline, two contrast agents) and state-of-the-art piston-driven tech, the Centargo guarantees exact dosage regulation and steady imaging quality—essential elements for reliable diagnoses and therapeutic strategies.

The Magnetom Flow represents Siemens Healthineers’ latest 1.5T MRI innovation, featuring a completely adaptable architecture coupled with a hermetically-sealed magnet that requires minimal helium. By using only 0.7 liters of liquid helium through its DryCool tech, this system avoids the necessity for regular refilling operations entirely, marking significant progress toward greener medical diagnostics.

Leveraging AI-powered technologies such as Deep Resolve, Magnetom Flow boosts diagnostic accuracy through advanced deep-learning image reconstruction techniques. This enhancement improves image clarity and cuts down scan durations by up to 88%. Additionally, it includes myExam Autopilot and myExam Assist functionalities, automating imaging procedures across more than 90% of body areas. These tools aid in maintaining consistent image standards and minimizing the need for repeated examinations.

Especially beneficial in fields like neurology and oncology, Magnetom Flow provides comprehensive imaging for the early identification of issues including strokes, neurodegenerative diseases, brain tumors, liver cancer, and breast cancer. This device’s advanced noise reduction features ensure a quieter and more pleasant patient experience.

The Somatom Pro.Pulse represents Siemens Healthineers’ premium offering in dual-source computed tomography systems, featuring two X-ray tubes alongside two detectors. This configuration allows for exceptional temporal resolution at just 86 milliseconds, which empowers medical professionals to obtain clear images even from patients who have rapid or inconsistent heartbeats.

The system incorporates ZeeFree, an AI-driven algorithm designed to automatically eliminate cardiac motion artifacts, along with Best Phase, which determines the ideal cardiac phase for enhanced clarity in coronary images.

The Somatom Pro.Pulse improves tissue differentiation via Dual Energy CT, providing as much as 30% greater spectral separation. This enhancement aids in achieving a more precise evaluation of lesions, especially within the field of oncology.

Moreover, the low-kilovolt protocol has been shown to decrease the amount of contrast medium used by as much as 49%. This makes it particularly advantageous for individuals suffering from kidney issues, young patients, older adults, or anyone who might have an increased sensitivity to contrast materials. At the unveiling ceremony, Fabian Martin Singer, the Managing Director of Siemens Healthineers Vietnam, highlighted how incorporating artificial intelligence and automated processes enhances image clarity while simultaneously alleviating some of the burden on medical staff and optimizing operational procedures within healthcare facilities. He emphasized, “Technologies such as Magnetom Flow and Somatom Pro.Pulse become crucial in urgent scenarios, where time is absolutely essential.”

At the event, YeWon Kwak highlighted that the thorough and cutting-edge solutions provided by Bayer and Siemens Healthineers will serve as crucial options for enhancing workflows and improving the standard of patient care throughout Vietnam, particularly within prominent healthcare facilities. Ye Won Kwak, who leads Radiology at Bayer Vietnam, stated, “Bayer and Siemens Healthineers offer extensive and cutting-edge solutions that are establishing new benchmarks in healthcare. These innovations strengthen medical practitioners and ultimately enhance patient care throughout Vietnam.”

The implementation of these cutting-edge technologies marks a substantial advancement in Bayer and Siemens Healthineers’s dedication to improving diagnostic imaging capabilities in Vietnam. Through the integration of artificial intelligence, automation, and eco-friendly innovations, they enhance both the efficiency and precision of diagnoses while simultaneously minimizing their ecological footprint.
