The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has stated its intention to introduce the next stage of its touch-free biometric passport application process in the United States, Mexico, Jamaica, and Brazil within this month.

The NIS Public Relations Officer, ACI Akinsola Akinlabi, disclosed this information in an official statement on Monday in Abuja.

Akinlabi disclosed that the updated system will launch in the United States on April 11, with Jamaica scheduled to follow on April 14. Additionally, both Mexico and Brazil are expected to adopt this system by the same date.

He encouraged Nigerians living in these countries to make the most of the new system when it is implemented.

As per his statement, the system would allow Nigerians to apply for passports without needing to go to passport office locations at Nigerian embassies abroad.
