— The Queensbury’s Ridge Road Transfer Station will shortly feature a ReUse Shed providing free, lightly-used tools and appliances to community members. Following extensive planning, the shed has been set up, and local authorities stated that this initiative is a crucial part of the three Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Household goods, garden tools, small appliances, and various equipment donations are welcome at the transfer station during their operating days—Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday—from 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Before you can borrow any tools for your use or needs, an attendant must approve and let you into the storage area.
All contributions should be pristine and undamaged. Please refer below for a list of items that will not be accepted irrespective of their state.
Donation items NOT accepted:
- Chemicals, paints, or stains
- Electronics
- Clothing

In 2018, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority designated Queensbury as a Clean Energy Community. Since then, the town has implemented various green projects, including fitting solar panels onto public structures, incorporating electric cars into their transportation lineup, and additional eco-friendly measures.
