The attendance of over 60 American tech and innovation companies at the 2025GITEX Africa event demonstrates Washington’s dedication to aiding Morocco’s digital progress, according to U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Aimee Cutrona on Monday.

At the fringes of the event in Marrakesh, Cutrona remarked that the trade fair provides “an excellent stage” for U.S. companies to investigate potential investments in Morocco, characterizing the country as an expanding digital center on the continent.

She commended Morocco for organizing the event, seeing it as proof of the nation’s leadership in Africa’s digital strategy. She emphasized the continuous endeavors inspired by the visionary guidance of HM King Mohammed VI, aimed at placing Morocco at the vanguard of technological advancement within the region.

In reference to a recent meeting in Washington D.C., where Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Cutrona stated that the discussions served as “an occasion to underscore our enduring alliance with the Kingdom of Morocco, guided by President Donald Trump and His Majesty King Mohammed VI.”

Held under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, GITEX Africa 2025 has drawn more than 1,400 exhibitors from over 130 countries. The event includes sector-focused conferences, creative industry showcases, and forums on digital innovation and artificial intelligence.

The organizers state that the exhibition intends to establish Morocco as a key entry point for technological investments and innovations throughout Africa.
